Carolyn Thompson P '27

Director of Advancement

Carolyn Thompson P'27 joined the Radcliffe Creek Community in November of 2023 as our director of advancement. Ms. Thompson brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to Radcliffe through her unique journey as a parent.

Originally from Catonsville, MD, Carolyn discovered her love for Chestertown in the mid-1990s during her years at Washington College, where she earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology. She furthered her education at Notre Dame of Maryland University, obtaining an MA in Nonprofit Management. She has taken various roles in her over 25-year nonprofit career, including program management, event coordination, communications, alumni relations, fundraising and consulting.

Since moving to Chestertown in 2009, Carolyn and her husband, Brian, have witnessed the transformative power of Radcliffe Creek School in her son's life. Facing challenges with dyslexia, their son, Finn, not only overcame hurdles but now excels in reading, thanks to the dedicated teaching team at RCS. Inspired by this experience, Carolyn is now driven to contribute her skills and experience to ensure that RCS continues to thrive.

Outside of work and motherhood, she enjoys coming home to a lively household filled with two dogs, two cats, a bunny, and a flock of chickens. Family travel adventures, boating, camping and photography are some of her favorite activities.
